I’m still scratching my head over this one.  How I made it through this, I really don’t know.  Wicked End was a 450 page porno with a tiny bit of plot thrown in.  Sounds awesome, right?  Unfortunately, there were a lot of problems with the scenes for me.  The sex scenes bordered on ridiculous and lacked the sensuality that would have taken them from words on a page to a vivid fantasy.  Also, no one can have sex with five different men in a matter of a few hours, one of the men being 12 inches (snort), then have sex with a man who is 8 inches and he still thinks she is tight.  This was the content for all 450 pages.  The little bit of plot included was randomly placed in the middle of the sex scenes, so it felt very disjointed and difficult to follow.  Why did I give this two stars?  I think it had potential to be a good story.  I think it really just needed an objective hand to help organize and get it flowing properly, and maybe get the sex scenes a little more realistic.

Alright, so I read the warning and it was part of the reason that I one clicked this book. A warning label and rock stars. And it was FREE! I was sold.  Until I wasn’t. The story had the bones to be really good. Even with a sex scene in every chapter. I was looking forward to that before reading it. But I couldn’t even finish the book. I made it 33% before I couldn’t go on anymore. This book is long- 453 pages long- so I gave it a fair try. And I wanted to enjoy it, I really did. Remember- free, rock stars, and lots of sex. But Brandon was too weak for me and Kenzie lacked any sense of self-worth. I am all for being sexually liberated and being free and happy, but damn, girl. I could almost look past the weak characters if the story had something interesting about it to keep me going, but this was more like literary porn with a side story. I like a little more story with my porn. Know what I mean?

However, the thing that really kept me from reading anymore was the fact that the sex wasn’t believable. Twenty orgasms in a session is just ludicrous.  And after taking multiple dicks and everyone cumming all over the place, Kenzie’s pussy would be a wreck.  And the sex was not written as sexy and erotic. It was just straight up descriptions.

So, that’s my raw opinion. If you are in the mood for written porn without much eroticism and sensuality and a weak story- this is your book.

Fair Warning: This an explicit book, with sex acts in almost every chapter. There are things most consider kinky or offensive, as well as multiple partners and male on male action. The language is harsh at times, and the sex is graphic and plentiful. If that is not what you are looking for, this book is not for you.

This is a spin-off of the Triple Threat series.

Brandon plays lead guitar for Wicked End and is on tour most of the year. Mackenzie is a busy professional in Florida. They’ve known each other for most of their lives, but shied away from being more than kinky friends with benefits. Brandon is craving something else. What would his closest friend think of that?

When a storm strands Mackenzie, Brandon comes to her rescue, not knowing his plan (and the lead singer’s demands) would make some of her hidden fantasies come true. She reveals her list of kinky desires and he silently vows to make them all reality.

As they spend more time together than they had in years, stronger feelings develop. Could a long distance relationship really work? Find out if they are willing to risk their favorite bed partner for something more.

Review: Thrilling Heaven by D.H. Sidebottom

Thrilling HeavenSynopsis

Every man is as heaven made him, and sometimes a great deal worse.

Boss, drummer for the highly accredit rock group Room 103, understands this statement.

Only too well.

He has been in love with one woman since he was sixteen. She was his soul mate, his lover, his heart and his very essence. But she was never his and yet she was always his.

Nine years! Nine long and lonely years since he last saw her, since he last embraced her unique spark of life and nine god damn years since he’d tasted her passion.

Then, bang! There she was, stood in front of him like a vision, like a gift presented to him from God.

What did he do when he saw her? He ran.

He ran because he knew if he touched her once again, then he wouldn’t give her the chance to disappear again, to break him all over again or to kill him a little more.

But this time he would make it his mission to have her, to hold on to her and to finally make her his. Completely.

He would do anything for her, and he does. He does the very thing that loses her.

So now he needs to fight; to battle and strive to get her back.

With a little help from friends and band mates, his own unique outlook on life and a tiny reprieve from God; he grins widely, begs shamelessly and just plain charms the pants off her, the only way Boss can.

Jen belongs to Boss… simple.

Stand in his way and he’ll take you down.

This book contains explicit sex scenes, domestic abuse, strong language and violence… oh, and one hell of a sweet rocker.

I really believe I almost died while reading this book.

But before I visit my near death experience, I want to back track a bit just to tell you how fantastic the prequel, Shocking Heaven was. The entire series is so intense, so RAW, so eye-opening, it made it in my top ten all time favorites for sure. Shocking Heaven is a whirl wind of all things catastrophic and beautiful. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will scream obscenities. It’s a must read.

Just read it, you know you want to!
PS. NO CLIFF HANGER!

You’re welcome.

Now, Thrilling Heaven is going to rip your soul in two and put in back together in less than 500 pages. This book isn’t nice and it isn’t cute. It’s about tragedy, lost love, and violence, but with a beautiful ending. At one point, I almost lost all hope. I really felt like I bled with the heroine, Jen, and endured every painful blow her body took, and sobbed right alongside her. I would have killed for her. The fucker that she married doesn’t need to exist on this planet.

But Boss, oooh Boss! You meet him in Shocking Heaven as the quick witted, always reliable BFF of Eve. He is your typical tattooed, pierced, comical drummer with a large heart. Boss takes the cliché ‘knight-in-shining-armor’ to a whole new level of bad ass. He’s done fucking around when it comes to Jen, and after nine years of tortuously being separated from her, he finally had enough. Throws up a big fuck you, and takes what he deserves. And true to Boss’s nature, he shows Jen that love isn’t supposed to leave you bleeding, but is the elixir which will bring her back to life.

Stay Raw,
❤ dg

Review of Strings by Kendall Grey

stringsSynopsis

WARNING: STRINGS is not suitable for slut shamers, uptight stone throwers, Holier-Than-Thou prudes, humorless virgins, persons with chronic neck or back pain, pearl-clutching bitties, those who disparage crude humor or vulgarity in their many forms, closed-minded people with sticks up their asses, or anyone under the age of 18. The vile, base language and shocking, unholy sexual acts contained herein are not condoned by anyone with a lick of sense and should certainly not be reproduced without proper training and protection. The potty-mouthed and perpetually horny “heroine” (the term is used loosely) of this book does not resemble a normal, well-adjusted, or remotely believable person in any way, shape, or form. The author acknowledges that the characters in this book are shallow and two-dimensional; the plot is both ridiculous and insipid. She makes no apologies for any of it.
* Readers are strongly advised to wear latex gloves whilst reading to minimize contamination risks.

Free-spirited musician Letty Dillinger adheres to a strict, “no strings attached” policy when it comes to men. After a wild night of unabashed sex in a fancy hotel room, she never expects to see the adventurous stud she dubs “Shades” again. When her all-girl rock trio books a tour at the last minute as the opening act for their archenemies, Letty’s shocked to discover she knows the competition’s new lead singer. Intimately. Shades is no longer a one-night stand. Now he’s the guy she has to one-up on stage every night for the sake of her career.
Sharing close quarters on a bus with her sexy nemesis and his bad-boy buddies puts Letty’s Golden Rule to the test. On this tour, guitar strings aren’t the only things being played. And when heartstrings are pulled too hard, they’re bound to snap sooner or later.

Holy. Hell.  Grab your fans ladies, better yet, read this next to a cold shower!

Strings, is a panty melting good time and should be sold with a bottle of tequila! It has everything a hard rock novel should, from experimental sex with strangers to an alcohol induced coma. But be forewarned, it’s definitely EROTICA! Now, okay, let’s break this down for those who apparently can’t read a fucking warning label before they purchase a damn book! It isn’t a life changer, and you aren’t going to find God at the end of it. Mrs. Grey herself described the characters as two- dimensional and flat. This book is meant to entertain in a raunchy, comical way. There’s just enough drama to keep you interested, but not enough to turn into a vagina-flag flying maniac. And fuck me, it’s a good time! I swear you won’t know whether to piss your pants from laughter or find the closest man to fuck. I wish I had half the balls of the heroine, Letty Dillinger! She has a mouth worse than a sailor and an even dirtier brain to go along with it. When the phrase, “rainbow cum buckets,” entered my vision, I flew into a wild fit of laughter and almost stopped breathing…

Sorry, I started laughing again.

Letty’s relationship with Shades, lead guitarist and sworn enemy, is a wild ride (no pun intended, okay, maybe it was a little). When his tattoos were described, I wanted to lick the page and send my man to the tattoo parlor. The sex, no- the fucking, is extreme (again read the damn warning!) and will definitely make you question your own level of experimentation. But the way he tugs her strings, will make you turn the page and hold out hope for a happy ending.

The secondary characters were no less shocking! Especially Rax, I hope that asshole gets a book. I want to see a woman bring him to his knees! Well, in a different perspective than Letty, that is. Then there is Toombs, who quite frankly freaks me out, and Jinx, who is totally different than the other characters. She is the shy drummer who comes to life on stage. There is an attraction between the two, but nothing evolves between them in Strings. That’s all coming up in Beats, and I should probably sit on a towel when I read that one (good idea, huh?)!

Despite the warnings attached and the simplistic nature of the story line, Grey is an outstanding writer. Even through obscene and raw language she managed to captivate my attention and left me grasping for a plot line that isn’t there. Though, she chooses to keep things light and humorous, there was still such potential for an earth shattering novel. And that’s why I gave it 5/5. She delivered more than she promised which left an impression on my strings I’ll never forget, even if it is only my g-string.

Stay Raw!  ❤ dg
