Blog Tour: Review & Giveaway- Storm by Nina Levine

3.5 out 5

The first half of Storm, I thought this was going to go into my take or leave pile.  There was a lot of build up that had potential to go in numerous directions and I didn’t want to get my hopes up that it would go the way of drama and angst that I have come to expect from an MC novel.  The second half of Storm made up for any of my concerns that the plot would fizzle out.  The story took some cool twists and I realized what I had originally thought of as a slow lead in was vital background to the plot.

Madison and J: very hot together.  I kept picturing that is yelling and throwing things at each other, one slaps the other, and then they grab each other and start kissing each other.  Well, in Madison and J’ case, they have hot sex against the wall.   This combo is done quite often, but also just as often misses the mark.  Nina Levine nailed it.

A well done debut from Nina Levine and well worth a read if you are an MC fanatic.  Looks like this is going to be the first in a series that is going into my TBR.  I even wouldn’t mind if she did a prequel novella to give a little more to Madison and J’s history that led to the beginning of this.  I would tell you to ignore the cover though.  It’s a beautiful drawing that would actually look great in a frame on my wall, but it’s a little Rebel Without A Cause, not that that is a bad thing, just not the best fit here.

4 out of 5

Bravo. Another debut author with amazing storytelling skills.  And she writes about hot bikers! Nina Levine’s debut novel, Storm, is the first book in the Storm MC series and I look forward to seeing where she takes the club and its members. This first book brought Madison, the club president’s daughter home for protection from club dealings and the love story that plays out is not an easy one. Madison and J have real communication issues and a history that is not pretty or full of hearts and flowers. Their love story is filled with fights, heartbreak and death. Madison has a tough time handling things but as time progresses; we see her character do a lot of growing. J is the typical hot biker with alpha tendencies, but he has a sweet side for Madison. The rest of the cast are real and interesting enough that I have a couple players that I hope to see in future installments- Madison’s BFF and club member, Nash, are just a couple. And Scott, Madison’s brother, should also be in that list. And Blade. Oh, who am I kidding, I want more from Nina Levine and the Storm MC.

Nina Levine has a wonderful writing style and I love that her characters, regardless of being rough and gritty bikers or old ladies, speak with a semblance of intelligence. I enjoy swearing and I have the dirty mouth to prove it, but I appreciate that Nina didn’t write about another MC with an array of legit businesses and an inability to speak above a fifth grade vocabulary. This book is smart and the characters are more mature (late twenties, early thirties). But don’t let me discount the Storm MC bikers.  They’re bikers through and through and the book has its share of swearing and plenty of bloodshed. Storm is well written, perfectly paced, and loaded with super hot sex scenes.  I guess what I’m trying to get across is that you should read Storm. It’s a must read.

Life can be a bitch but love can get you through any storm.
Madison Cole’s family is the Storm Motorcycle Club. Her father is the President and her brother is the VP. She grew up surrounded by bikers, crime and violence. Two years ago she walked away from her family and the world they live in. Her soul was shattered, her heart was broken and she had an addiction she couldn’t shake. She picked up the pieces and put herself back together. Now her family wants her back. The club is being threatened and they send a club member to return her home to safety; the one person that could destroy everything she has worked so hard to build.
Jason Reilly has sacrificed a lot for the motorcycle club he calls family. Two years ago he made the biggest sacrifice of all; he gave up the woman he loved for them. Now he is being sent to bring her back and he is conflicted. He thought he was over her but discovers their connection is as strong as ever. Their love was all-consuming, passionate and fiery. It was also their undoing and he doesn’t know if either of them is strong enough to battle the demons that ripped them apart, to find love again.
Madison and Jason are brought back together by a force out of their control; one that pushes them to a breaking point. Can they overcome their past and discover a love worth fighting for or will the harsh reality of their world finally and completely break them both?
I grabbed my purse and headed outside to go and buy lunch.
J was on the phone, but saw me come outside and signalled for me to wait.
“I’m going to buy lunch, J.  And I only get an hour so I don’t have time to wait for you,” I said, tersely.  He kept talking and scowled at me.  I turned and started to walk away from him, towards the cafe where I always bought lunch.I could hear him muttering something into the phone and then he must have ended his call because he went silent. Then, he barked,“Madison!”
The last thingI wanted to do was stop for him, but there was something in his tone; a ‘don’t fuck with me’ command.  So I stopped, and turned around to look at him.  Oh, my.  He was shitty. He stalked to where I was and got in my face.
“Why the fuck do you have to be so difficult about this?” He was fuming. Well, I could see him, and raise him in his anger.
“Maybe it has something to do with the way Scott has gone about this.  And the fact that he sent you!”
He flinched.  It was only for a second, and most people wouldn’t have even noticed it. But I knew J, and I saw it.  It
surprised the fuck out of me.
“Well then, it looks like we’ve got some shit to sort out, babe, because I’m not going anywhere.”
“I don’t want to sort shit out with you.  That ship sailed two fucking years ago, J,” I spat.
He gripped my arm, pulling me closer, “No, it fucking didn’t,” he growled, eyes blazing, “And you can’t deny there’s still something here.I feel it and I know you feel it too.”
I laughed.  No, actually, I cackled.  “You wanna fuck, J?  I can feel that, and, yeah, if you wanna go there, I’m all for it.  But don’t mistake my desire for your cock for anything else.”
Nina Levine is an Aussie writer who writes stories about hot, alpha men and the tough, independent women they love. You won’t find any whiny, spineless women in Nina’s books and you certainly won’t find weak men.

A warning though, you will find hot, dirty sex, lots of swearing, occasional violent encounters and men and women who live fast and love hard.

Nina’s debut book Storm will be releasing in November 2013. It is based around the Storm Motorcycle Club and is the first book in an MC series.

Cover Reveal & Giveaway: Seven Sons by Lili St Germain

Coming February 2014

My father was most certainly NOT an innocent man. As the President of the Gypsy Brothers MC, he was guilty of many things. But he died for a crime that he didn’t commit, framed by an enemy within who then stole his club and everything he had ever worked to protect.

Including my innocence.

When Dornan Ross framed my father, he set into motion a series of events that could never be undone. My father was murdered by Dornan Ross and his sons when I was fifteen years old.

Before my father died, Dornan and his sons stole my innocence and branded my skin, and in doing so, ensured that their lives would be prematurely cut short. That they would suffer.

I’ve just turned twenty-one, and I’m out for blood. I’m out for revenge.

But I didn’t expect to fall for Jase, the youngest brother in the club.

I didn’t expect that he would turn my world upside down, yank my heart out of my chest and ride away into the sunset with it.

Now, I’m faced with an impossible choice – Jase, or avenging my fathers death?

Lili St Germain Author Photo

Lili writes dark erotica and NA. Her debut serial novel, Seven Sons, is due to be released in early 2014, with the following books in the series to be released in quick succession. Lili quit corporate life to focus on writing and so far is loving every minute of it. Her other loves in life include her gorgeous husband, good coffee, hanging at the beach and running. She loves to read almost as much as she loves to write.

Tears form at the corner of my eyes as the full brunt of Dornan’s obsession with me becomes apparent. He left me here for this. He asked me who my ex-boyfriend was, and then proceeded to travel across the country to kidnap an innocent boy from his house. A boy who has never laid eyes on me, a boy who I found online and added to Sammi’s backstory for credibility.

A boy who kneels in front of me with a gun pointed at his head.

I struggle against Chad’s stronghold, but it is useless. The guy is built, and he’s probably been snorting the white powder with daddy all the way home.

I bite down on Chad’s hand and he pulls it away, yelling at me.

“He’s not my ex!” I scream, fighting against Chad’s rigid embrace.

Dornan looks at me like a man possessed. A man on a mission.

“I lied,” I gasp, still struggling. “I’ve never met him before. Please, just let him go.”

Dornan lowers his gun and looks me up and down. “You don’t have to be scared of him anymore,” he says. He lifts the gun, his finger putting pressure on the trigger.

“Please!” I scream.

My pleas go unheeded.

Blog Tour: Saving Dallas Making the Cut by Kim Jones

Saving Dallas Banner

Kim Jones is a personal friend to Raw Books and we love her immensely. Kim has a gift for storytelling, and it’s no different when she puts it on paper than when she entertains you in person. Kim Jones is a talented writer and we love the Saving Dallas series. For our reviews of Saving Dallas, Book 1, please go here.

Making The Cut Cover

5 out of 5

As Kim’s editor you may think that I am biased when it comes to reviewing her work, but I wouldn’t be her editor if I didn’t believe in her as a writer. And Kim is an amazing writer and storyteller; both drunk and sober. Making the Cut answered a lot of questions and resolved a lot of issues from the first book and the reveals were handled fantastically. Luke and Dallas have a scorching hot relationship, but it has been plagued with club business and others’ interference. Dallas has grown so much since we met her in Saving Dallas.

In the beginning of this saga, no one liked Dallas. Which was totally understandable, what with her being the bitch that she felt she needed to be to protect herself.  Luke, and the Club, show Dallas another way to be and she steps up and shows that she understands the loyalty and love that come with life in the Club. Dallas deals with a lot of heavy shit in this book, and Kim did a great job of handling the emotional turmoil of the characters while also keeping me riveted on what would happen next without dragging out the angst or taking away from the love story between Luke and Dallas. Kim Jones is a talented new voice in the Indie book community and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. I am confident that whatever she writes will not only be a great story, but will be scorching hot. Kim writes damn good sex scenes that never fail to make me hot and bothered.

I am waiting just as impatiently as the rest of her readers for Saving Dallas: Forever which we can expect by early 2014. Maybe sooner, if I get my way in convincing Kim that letting me lock her in my guest room until she finishes writing is a great idea. I promised to feed her and everything. I’ll keep you posted on my efforts.

5 out of 5

Making The Cut was so damn good that I had a book hangover for two days after I finished reading it.  Going forward, every single MC book I read will be compared to this one.  I want to spend this whole review being a gushing incoherent fan girl, but I will try to refrain.

Kim Jones delivered a hard core, but kick ass story about the MC.  Making The Cut picks up where Saving Dallas leaves off, and all of the unanswered questions are resolved.  By the way, WOW, some serious shit that I definitely did not expect!   While there is a third book scheduled (hurry, hurry Kim!), this one does not leave off with as heavy as a cliffhanger, though I have a feeling we’re in for some more twists.

Luke/LLC and Dallas are smoking hot together.  Luke is the requisite alpha male and is supremely drool worthy.  Dallas is full of attitude, and from the outside looking in probably comes off as a total bitch, but she’s the kind of bitch you wish you could get away with being, and I couldn’t imagine anyone being a more perfect match for Luke.

So, now I’m going to have my fan girl moment.  It is a testament to the author’s skills when their story is so enthralling that the lines between fantasy and reality get blurred to the point that if I pull my face out of my kindle that it takes me a moment to figure out what is going on around me.  Kim Jones has a true gift and I hope to see many more books from her.

Bonus Scene

I stood in the doorway, helpless as the woman that I had devoted my life to lay lifelessly in the bed before me. Her nightmares were so frequent that I was afraid to even leave the room for fear she would wake and I wouldn’t be there. It had to be well past two in the morning, and my body was now running on adrenaline alone. Less than twenty-four hours ago my girl was being sexually assaulted by a man that I once called my friend. I felt my grip tighten around the coffee mug I held in my hand.

Breathe Luke.

The last thing I needed was to harm a part of myself in a way that would prevent me from holding her when she needed me. My hands no longer belonged to me. My eyes were only for her, and my heart was held in the tiny palms of the hands of Dallas Knox. I had no idea what they had done to her. Earlier, as I had washed her broken, dirty, battered body, I noticed the way she cringed when my hands fell to the places where she once enjoyed my touch. He had touched her. He had put his hands on something that was mine. I knew I sounded like some kind of barbarian getting territorial over my property, but that was not the reason I was so pissed. I was pissed because they had stole something from her that she would never be able to get back. Her pride, dignity and her right to say who could touch her had been taken. She was now a broken woman and I would spend my last days on Earth piecing her back together.

“Luke.” I heard her whisper in her sleep. I knew a nightmare was soon to follow. She often called out my name as if she was preparing me for what was to come, although I knew that was not possible. If Dallas could control the torturous dreams she would.

I sat down my now cold coffee on the night stand and climbed into bed behind her. I was no longer the man I once was. Many people who saw me every day in my cut, proudly sporting that Devil’s Renegades patch would not think that I had succumbed to a man who was willing to cradle his woman like a baby just to reassure her she was safe. Some would say I was losing my edge, or going soft, but that was not the case. Dallas might have my heart, but the blood that ran through my veins was cold. Frankie would die and it would be me who pulled the trigger to end his life, if he was lucky. I would much rather cover him in peanut butter and bury him alive in an ant hill somewhere, but I would probably be forced to take a more humane route. I felt Dallas’ small frame curl deep into the mattress and I was pulled from my thoughts of Frankie and back into the situation at hand.

“Please.” I heard Dallas cry as her body started to convulse into shudders that made my heart clench and my eyes fill with tears.

“I’m here, baby. I’m here.” I turned her to me and buried her face in my chest, rocking us back and forth as I whispered reassurances in her ear. I felt her body take a sudden deep breath and I squeezed my eyes shut at what I knew was to come.

Loud, blood curdling screams echoed off the walls of the bedroom. I pulled her closer, tilting her head back so I could look in her face as I shook her gently, waking her.

“Dallas. Wake up, baby. You are safe. No one can hurt you anymore.” I had said the words so many times, but each time hurt just as much as the first. When her beautiful green eyes opened up to me, I could see the sorrow that filled them. Her right eye was barely visible through her swollen lid that was so many shades of blue and purple that it looked almost unreal. Sobbing always came next, and this time was no different. It was like she was ashamed to look at me, and the thought made me a die a little on the inside. I rubbed her hair continuously until her breathing slowed and I was sure she knew she was safe. We had followed this same pattern every few hours for the last day. I knew she would request something to drink, and since I couldn’t leave her alone for even a moment, and she wouldn’t go by herself, I cradled her in my arms and carried her to the kitchen with me. I had become an expert at maneuvering around with her in my arms. With her legs wrapped around my waist, and her arms wrapped around my neck, I moved around the kitchen to service her every need.

Pain reliever.

More water.

Another round of tears, as her need for me sunk in.

Apologies from her.

Apologies from me.

Reassurances from her.

Reassurances from me.

Back to bed.

As I carried her down the hall and to the bathroom, my anger flared, just as it always did. My strong, independent, talented, thoughtful, wonderful girl couldn’t even take a piss on her own without fearing for her life. Yes, Frankie the Cutter was going to die, and the pleasure was gonna be all mine.

She went searching for a one night stand and ended up falling in love with Luke Carmical, President of the Devil’s Renegades Motorcycle Club. Now she must decide how to handle the aftermath of Frankie’s brutal assault and the knowledge that Luke has been lying to her- about everything. Secrets are revealed and more lies exposed as Dallas Knox, CEO of Knox Companies, becomes more involved in the MC. She wonders if this life is enough for her, if this family is really what she wants. When circumstances present her with an unusual twist of fate, Dallas knows without a doubt, that this is the family she has longed for. New problems occur, traumatic events take place and lives hang in the balance as Dallas has to decide what is really most important in life.

The journey is long.

The outcome is uncertain.

Can she make the cut?

Kim Jones is a writer with big dreams and a creative imagination. Her infatuation with the MC lifestyle inspired her to write a short story about a love affair between a prestigious young woman and a bad-ass biker. After falling in love with her characters, she turned the ten-thousand word short story into a novel. Juggling her full time job as a payroll clerk, her writing, and her role as ol’lady to her husband, Reggie, her first novel, Saving Dallas, was published in May of 2013.

Kim resides in Collins, MS with her husband and two dogs. She plans to write three books in the Saving Dallas series. The final book will be released in early 2014.

Blog Tour: Reviews & Giveaway- Knights’ Sinner by Bella Jewel

Knights' Sinner Cover

Barnes & Noble

5 out of 5

Knights’ Sinner is definitely my favorite in the MC Sinners series.  I haven’t been able to figure out why I liked this one so much better.  I enjoyed the first two immensely, but there was just something about Jackson and Serenity that left me feeling warm and fuzzy and wanting more at the end.  I just…LIKED them.

Jackson and Serenity had amazing chemistry.  The push and pull and banter between them made me a chuckle a few times, and it is not easy to find moments to chuckle while reading a book about an alpha MC and the daughter of…well…I won’t give that away.  Oh, and the sex was H-O-T.  My only wish would have been more ménage.  But, as much as I would like to complain about that, more ménage probably wouldn’t have worked with the flow of everything else going on.

The meat of the story is a continuation and ultimately conclusion of the build up from Hell’s Knights and Heaven’s Sinners, and the shit truly hits the fan here.  There is enough blood and body parts that if they made this into a movie, your men would go willingly and you would get to look at sexy bikers for two hours!  I do have one little question though…If Jackson is the president of the MC, why does he spend so little time on his bike?

Bella Jewel completely delivered with this series.  This is the last one, but FYI, there is a little preview of her next book, Enslaved By The Ocean at the end of this one and…I can NOT freaking wait!  Pirates are so yummy.

3.5 out of 5

I was intrigued about Jackson’s story as soon as I read about Ciara catching him with two other people- at the same time! The end of Heaven’s Sinners proceeded to make me even more intrigued about Knights’ Sinner and how the young girl we are introduced to would play into the story. And while I enjoyed the book, it is not my favorite of the MC Sinners series. That honor will remain with Spike in Heaven’s Sinners.

Jackson and Serenity are both in tough spots for different reasons but all related to the same problem, Hogan. They feel a connection to one another but they each have reasons for not pursuing what could happen between them. Another club member, Muff, was our third for the sexy times and those are scorching hot and well written, just as we’ve come to expect from Bella Jewel. The events in the book were paced appropriately and I love fact that we get a glimpse of Cade and Addison, and Spike and Ciara. All issues were wrapped up and the epilogue was a fun look at the future of this group of characters that have been with us for three books.

I just wasn’t very into Serenity. I feel for the girl and her crappy unfair background, but I just couldn’t connect with her and the kept me from really loving this book. It’s totally worth reading. Especially since it is the final book in the series. Though I hear we may be getting a Muff novella just in time for Christmas.

Jackson is always considered the ‘softie’. He’s the first to help people out when they’re in need. He’s President of the Hell’s Knights and is tired of being treated like a pushover. He wants to show the world how much of a sinner he can be.

Serenity has a dark past. Secrets haunt her and she has no way of escaping them. Hogan is the only family she knows and life with him is brutal. And it’s about to get worse.

He sends her on a mission.

On a mission to destroy the Hell’s Knights and the Heaven’s Sinners.

Can she pretend with a club she doesn’t know?

Or will she betray Hogan?

“You want the truth?” I rasp, arching up as his fingers slide down my belly.

“Right now, in this moment…I want you to fuck me.”

He lifts his head and raises his brows. “Fuck you?”

“Fuck me. Dirty. Raw. Primal. I want you to fuck me.”

“Jesus,” he growls.

“Now, Jackson.”

“Bossy pixie,” he grins, leaning down and finding my hard nipple again.

“Back to begging, you know I like that.”

I mewl, and grip his jeans, tugging at them.

“Hey,” he says, gripping my hands and moving them. “You want fucking, I’ll fuck you darlin’. I’ll fuck you so hard you will forget how to breathe, but we do it my way. You want it raw, I’ll give it to you raw. You want it primal, that’s how it comes. Fucking ain’t slow and passionate. It’s hard and sweaty. So, if you’re sure, I’m goin’ to fuck you right about now.”

I bite my lip, and nod. He grins, and drops his head, capturing my lips again and kissing me so hard it takes my breath away. His tongue is hard, sexy and forceful. His body is flush against mine, and I can feel every, hard bit of him. He kisses me until we’re in a frenzy, just the way fucking should be. He kisses me until I’m clinging to him, tugging at his jeans. He kisses me until my shirt is in shreds on the floor, and he’s spreading my legs, both of us desperate and panting.

I forget where I am. I forget who I am.

Bella Jewel is an Aussie girl through and through. She spent her life in Western Australia, growing up in many different areas of the state. Review: Craving Constellations Nicole Jacquelyn

4 out of 5

Holy shit, this was good!  Craving Constellations is one hell of a debut novel from Nicole Jacquelyn.  Brenna’s story is heartbreaking, and yeah, I came really close to crying at more than one point, which I do NOT do. It started heavy and just kept going.  The start of the story drops you right into her flight from her abusive husband.  When she gets back to the MC home she grew up in, she has to deal with the secrets she has kept from her father, the club, and Dragon.  The reader is then led through a crazy shit storm of events, some of which went right to that edge of could go too far, but then stopped at just right, leaving me feeling totally satisfied with the event and outcome.

Dragon, yyyuuummm, is a sinfully sexy bad boy alpha biker to the nth degree.  Of course, regardless of the hotness, he does have a few asshat moments, and by asshat, I mean biggest jerk on the planet.  But, he wouldn’t be an alpha male if I didn’t have at least one moment where I thought that.  Ultimately, I felt he was the perfect match for Brenna, who, by the way, was completely the shit.

Craving Constellations is now on my top ten favorite MC books.  Read this!  You know you want to.

5 out of 5

Holy debut greatness! In my effort to clear out my TBR between blog tours and ARC reviews, I started this book without really knowing what this book was about.  A friend told me to one click it because she thought it was my kind of book. AND IT SO WAS! Craving Constellations is an amazing debut novel.  It’s an amazing novel. Period. The story is chock full of all the things that give me a book hard on. Alpha male? Check. A motorcycle club? Check. Interesting plot? Check. Sexual chemistry? Check. In spades. Likable cast of characters? Check. Cool heroine? Check.

Nicole Jacquelyn has a really great writing style. The book moved at a great pace and had just the right amount of drama, heartache, and love. Her descriptions of people and emotions puts you right there- in the story- and I couldn’t stop reading. And while I want more and I will be snapping up the next book in the Aces series immediately upon its release, Brenna and Dragon’s story wrapped up beautifully.

How could someone make decision after decision attempting to get away from their past and somehow end up right back where they started?
When Brenna decided to leave the only life she’d ever known, she swore she’d never go back. Now, five years later, she’s running from her clean-cut husband straight back to the motorcycle club that raised her… and the man she left behind.
She left with a secret, and the truth will soon break her carefully constructed life wide open.

Warning: This book contains graphic sex and language, domestic abuse, and the loss of a child. It is meant for mature audiences.
